Marching in tune with our community

About Us

Last updated: September 1, 2008

The band holds lesson/rehearsals every Monday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm over a traditional school year calendar.

We will be celebrating our 54th year in 2008-2009.  Registration for the band will be Thursday September 4, 2008 at LCVI in Lindsay from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

We are looking for both beginner and experienced musicians in grades 6 to 12 for brass, woodwinds and percussion.

We are planning a trip to Alberta in July 2009, including a performance at the Calgary Stampede Parade.

During the fall parade season, special marching clinics are held on the occasional Saturday morning to fine-tune our marching. Lessons take place at Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational institute in Lindsay, Ontario.

The cost of the program is $400.00, 2nd family member $350.00, 3rd family member $300.00, and payment plans are available.

For the cost of membership, each member receives:

  • At least 2 hours of musical instruction a week on a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument.
  • Approximately 30 hours of marching instruction per year.
  • The use of an instrument
  • A complete band uniform
  • Transportation to all parades
  • Hours of fun
  • The opportunity to form lifelong friendships
  • Memories to last a lifetime

Parents and band members are expected to assist in a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. Money raised from these events, help to subsidize the operation of the band.
